I AM PASSIONATE ABOUT DRAWING AND WATERCOLOUR AND WOULD LIKE TO PASS THIS ONTO YOU. ANYONE CAN LEARN HOW TO PAINT AND DRAW, IT JUST REQUIRES A LITTLE APPLICATION AND GOOD GUIDANCE.

CLASSES ARE HELD ON LOCATION AS MOST OF MY WORK IS PAINTED PLEIN AIR.

TUITION IS TAILORED TO YOUR CURRENT ABILITY AND IS SUITABLE FOR BOTH BEGINNERS AND INTERMEDIATE STUDENTS WISHING TO IMPROVE THEIR SKILLS.

CLASS SIZES ARE LIMITED TO 5 PEOPLE SO THAT ALL STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE MAXIMUM INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION.

LOCATIONS INCLUDE THE SCENIC SOUTH COAST FROM BATEMANS BAY TO NAROOMA AND THE NATIONS CAPITAL CANBERRA. OTHER LOCATIONS BY SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT.

THE COST OF TUITION IS $100 PER DAY - STUDENTS ARE TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN BEVERAGES, LUNCH AND ART MATERIALS.

FAQ

Q. I am not able to walk far these days. Would your painting courses be suitable for me?

A. All my Outdoor Painting sites are carefully chosen: whilst the age range of those attending Watercolour courses is inevitably mixed, I appreciate that many will not want to walk too far with painting gear to reach an attractive site so parking is arranged as close as possible to kiosks, conveniences as well as painting sites.

Q. I have attended several courses and rarely saw the tutor for more than a few minutes due, principally, to the size of the classes. Are your courses any different?

A. I restrict course numbers to a maximum of 5 students, thereby ensuring that everyone has ample one-to-one tuition from me. I usually start with a demonstration: it is likely that skill levels will vary considerably even with a small group and I always invite those who wish to get on and do their own thing,to do so. In practice, most of those with more experience will paint within ear-shot of my demonstration, joining in when they hear, in my commentary, comments or tips about aspects in which they are particularly interested. After the demonstration, the “students” commence their own paintings and some will require more help from me than others. I continue to move around for the rest of the session, sorting out individual problems, explaining techniques and offering advice.
